Since its creation in 2001, ABITONDA has always been committed to providing children with a caring environment, where growing, learning, and thriving go hand in hand. Our school was born out of a simple yet strong desire: to support young children from their very first steps, and to guide them throughout their educational journey. Here are the key milestones of our story:

From 2001 to 2014
The ABITONDA adventure began in 2001, in a small residential house located just below the grocery store “La Gardienne” in Kiyovu. At that time, ABITONDA was just a daycare, but the school was already distinguished by its family-style welcome, its attention to the needs of very young children, and its relationship of trust with families.

Kiyovu Campus since 2014
In 2014, in response to growing trust from parents, we reached an important milestone: we left the original house to move into a more suitable building, which would become the current Kiyovu campus. This move also marked the opening of our preschool section.
The school grew, enriched its pedagogical practices, and starting in 2018, we began gradually opening elementary classes, while maintaining our commitment to quality education and a warm atmosphere.

Gisozi Campus since 2023
In 2023, our school community continues to grow. The increasing number of students makes it necessary to open a second campus. We then find a larger building in Gisozi, near ULK University.
It is there that we set up our preschool and elementary classes in this new spacious and child-friendly environment: the Gisozi campus is born. The Kiyovu campus, for its part, returns to its roots by becoming a space exclusively dedicated to the nursery and children under 3 years old, with a calm, reassuring environment tailored to their pace.
